This is the 2002 version of the New Year's Concert, an annual event enjoyed around the world. The performance on January 1st was released in the same month. The complete recording was later released.
The 2002 concert features many works by Johann Strauss II, who was born 175 years ago. Other works performed include "Johann Strauss II: Tik-Tak, Polka" and "Johann Strauss II: Elisen-polka," which will be performed for the first time at the New Year's Concert.
