"Nothin' But The Blues," the opening number on the 1960 LP "Lightnin' and the Blues," has been reissued on a 7-inch green record with the same coupling tracks as the original single.
This Herald recording marks the peak of Lightnin's electric guitar playing, complete with a rhythm section. The LP opens with a super-heavy slow blues track, adorned with dirty, ringing guitar and deep growls.
The track "Early Mornin' Boogie," not included on the LP, is also powerful, combining authentic Texas boogie with a John Lee Hooker-esque vibe!
