A collection of masterpieces featuring quintets for piano and wind instruments by the two great masters of the Viennese classical period, Mozart and Beethoven.

Mozart's Quintet for Piano and Wind Instruments in E-flat major, K. 452, is a masterpiece that Mozart himself said was "one of my favorite pieces," and is an elegant piece in which the piano and woodwind instruments converse on an equal footing.

Beethoven's Quintet in E-flat major, Op. 16, while deeply influenced by Mozart's works, stands out for its more powerful and structured expression. Brendel's intellectual approach beautifully brings out Beethoven's youthful passion, and the individuality of each performer resonates vividly.
