This is a masterpiece album that is a return to the band's roots, full of poetic and melodic works.
The 22nd album released in 1983. Co-produced with Mark Freuder Knopfler (Dire Straits). Contains 8 songs in total, including "Sweetheart Like You".
The recording of this album dragged on, and Mark Freuder Knopfler left to tour with his band Dire Straits. Bob Dylan finished the remaining tapes himself. Although it does not completely abandon the religious imagery of the previous album, it is a work that is characteristic of Bob Dylan by focusing on more personal themes of love and loss, in addition to environmental and geopolitical commentary.
