It was the first album to reach number one on the UK album chart.Released in 1983, this was their third album. It was their first to reach number one on the UK album charts, and their first to chart in the top 10 of the Billboard 200. It included hit singl Riding the wave of the "2nd British Invasion" that began in mid-1982, this album sold 1 million copies in the U.S. alone. The fusion of blue-eyed soul and electric sound on the single "Here Comes the Rain Again" was a success, and from this album onwards, songs that made use of Annie Lennox's (vocals) soulful singing began to increase. |
